SmartCORE Objectives

The SmartCORE project has several key objectives:

  • To enlarge the share of renewable energy (RES) in North-West Europe (NWE) by providing integrated energy management capabilities to NWE Energy Communities (ECs).
  • To help 6 existing & 6 new ECs in Luxembourg, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, and France organize & improve their collective RES production & consumption and enhance RES integration.
  • To develop these capabilities on Smart Community-Owned Renewable Energy (SmartCORE) in varying contexts to de-risk & support further RES investments in NWE.
  • To address territorial challenges related to energy transition such as Awareness, Participation, Resilience, and Independence for energy communities.
